Airports have such heavy energy
The pain of parting
The mix of loss, accompanying regrets
With excitement, anticipation
Eagerness for what is to come
The joy of reunion
In a mosaic
with the choke
of saying goodbye.
The big families, sleepy children
Hugs and kisses, jubilant couples
Tears of every kind.
The lone travelers
In their shrouds of mystery
Who are they?
Where did they come from,
where are they going, and
why
Is there no one to greet them or bid them farewell?
A place of transition, of constant flux
A swarming
sea of humanity
If you could only know every story
What brought each of them here today
And why
they feel
as they do.
