"Meet any interesting people?"
I hitched 4000 km in 60 rides over the course of six and a half weeks, lived in a borrowed tent pitched wherever I could get away with it, formed impromptu tent villages with total strangers signified by traveling packs, surfed random couches and lawns, squatted in a construction site for a week with stranded fruitpickers that I met in an eyeball at the biggest, craziest, and longest rave this side of Burning Man, went through four kazoos, survived on gifts and trades and the Nelson soup kitchen, lived with a vagrant who had been arrested three times in the previous week, hitchhiked three provinces through a hailstorm with a birthday hangover and a gregarious midget, and now the walls of my new room are decorated with caution tape, seashells, hemp, a hula hoop, a holographic festival ticket, and a groundscored diabolical rainbow knit mask all from the trip...nah, I didn't meet anyone interesting.
