follow the script
Standing back
I watch myself
going through the motions
A separate entity
Is that really me?
Smiling, talking, flirting, coy
admiring, teasing, ego-stroking
I don't think I mean any of it
but it's hard to tell
Because it doesn't feel like it's even me
doing it in the first place
I don't think I decided
to say those things, to act like that
Who took over my body?
Socialization at work.
I would give anything for adventure if you would give everything for love.
